Green Jelly Beans were first discovered in 1952 by Dr. Philo T. Beansworth. Dr. Beansworth, known as The father of Green Jellybeans, was walking through the Jellybell jellybean plant and discovered that the beans that Jellybell was making at the time, weren't green, rather they were avacado.
Sensing a need for beans that were green, the good doctor contacted the plant manager and said that the world didn't want avacado beans, but rather, the world needed green beans. It was then he began his quest to discover the correct formula so that beans would be green, and not avacado.
Dr. Beansworth quest would not be in vain but would take many years to accomplish. Over the next 20 years he searched the planet for the source of the correct green that would accomplish his quest. He investigated all of the other jellybean manufacturers and discovered that they too, didn't have the right green. All were avacado as well.
Dr Beansworth continued his quest for the right green jelly beans. It wasn't until the spring of 2008 that he discovered the alibaba.com website and the fact there wasn't a single source of jellybeans that were green but more like 2,000 grean bean makers.
